Description

Overview

Add profiles to Remark.as, that show off individual users (i.e. collections).

Implementation

This will be the place people go when clicking on a username within Remark.as, plus the profile link authors can hand out for their audience to interact with them. This should cater to both those cases.

Also consider these perspectives:

  • The profile isn't just one way communication, author-to-audience. It's also a hangout space.
  • It's the gateway to an author / photographer's content, so it should look nice upon landing there, and show everywhere a visitor can navigate to.
  • Not a McFacebook profile; have some character and let the author make it their own (e.g. rename Writing, Photos, Messages tabs
  • It's the author's interface with the world; people will curiously browse, but can also "go up to them" to have a conversation

To finish this, we need to be able to indicate that an image is an "avatar" in Snap.as.

This is complete in T884.

For launch, I'd like the profile to include e.g. a link to their Write.as blog and Snap.as page (if applicable). Maybe they can also upload a background image, for funsies.

There is one bug: uploading an avatar and then pressing "Save" erases the avatar_url saved to the user.
